Dear St. Patrick’s Families,
As we look ahead to another exciting week at St. Patrick’s, we are reminded of the strength of our school community and the importance of coming together to support others. This past week, our students had the opportunity to demonstrate compassion, generosity and school spirit through our Terry Fox Run and Civvies Day. We are grateful for the continued support of our families as we work together to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Looking a little further ahead, please mark your calendars for Picture Day on Thursday, October 1, 2026 (All students are expected to be in their school uniform for this picture day). We look forward to capturing some special memories of our students and staff early in the school year.

📖 Orange Shirt Day – September 30th: Orange Shirt Day is a day to honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada. It is also a time to learn, reflect, and work together toward truth and reconciliation.🧡 Wear your orange shirt to show your support.
HOT LUNCH IS UP AND RUNNING: We are excited to once again begin our hot lunch programme! A reminder that every Sunday at NOON is the cut-off to order for that week. The deadline to order hot lunch for next week is Sunday, September 27th by NOON. Orders after this deadline will not be processed. Orders can be placed weekly or in advance. Here is the weekly Hot Lunch lineup:
Mondays: Booster Juice (AM snack) & Subway / Tuesdays: Dominos Pizza / Wednesdays: Zucca’s Catering / Thursdays: Pizza Pizza / Fridays: A & W (all buns delivered to our school are SEED FREE)

Safety Awareness Week The week of October 5 to October 9, 2026 has been designated as Safety Awareness Week in all York Catholic District School Board schools. At St. Patrick’s, the safety and well-being of our students is always a top priority. During this week, staff and students will take part in reviewing important safety procedures and participating in practice drills to ensure everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency. As part of the 2026–2027 school year requirements, all schools will be practicing the following safety drills:
Fire Drills Lockdown Drills Hold & Secure Drills Shelter-in-Place Drills
These drills are an important part of creating a safe and caring learning environment for all. Please take a moment to speak with your child about the importance of these safety practices and reassure them that these drills are conducted to keep everyone safe. CSC News We look forward to our upcoming Catholic School Council Meeting this Monday September 28 at 7pm in the school library. We will conclude last years CSc and establish our new CSC for the 2026/27 school year.
👕 YCDSB Civvies Day Fundraiser: On Thursday, October 15, 2026, students and staff across the YCDSB will come together to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty through the YCDSB’s third annual Civvies Day Fundraiser. Last year, the generosity of school communities across the system helped raise $46,273.55. With the support of Attendance Counsellors, these funds were used to assist families with financial needs and help remove barriers that can affect a student’s ability to attend and fully participate in school. Please note that this fundraiser is separate from the regularly scheduled Civvies Days planned at St. Patrick CES throughout the school year. The October 15 Civvies Day is a YCDSB-wide initiative specifically dedicated to raising funds to support students and families in our communities. We encourage our St. Patrick’s community to come together on October 15 to support this important initiative. 100% of the funds raised directly support students and families, helping to address barriers with dignity, compassion and care. As a Catholic school community, this is one way we can be the hands and feet of Christ in the world — seeing one another as neighbours and living out Jesus’ call to love and serve others.
